April 26 - Things to do and see in MABINAY

LANGUB FESTIVAL
The Langub is an annual festival held every 24th day of January in Poblacion, Mabinay Negros Oriental. This festival is held yearly to coincide with the annual town fiesta which is January 25 in honor of Sto. NiƱo (Child Jesus). This is a 5-day (January 21-25) package celebration commemorating the joy, unity and prosperity achieved by the early cave dwellers. At the same time, a thanksgiving celebration for a God-given natural wonder; the spectacles and splendors of the caves that makes Mabinay “The Cave Capital of the Philippines”. The highlights of the festivities are agro fair, sports events, entertainment activities, pageant, street dance and showdown of the 6 basic Langub dance steps and movements, live band and finally, the fireworks display. Having these festivities is a good way to promote awareness and tourism in this municipality.

CAVING IN MABINAY
Caving in Mabinay is possible all around the year. Mabinay has around 300 limestone caves of which 45 have currently been explored and documented some detail; of the 45, only 8 are open for general access. The local tourism office has developed 3 primary areas of caving, this caves are Pandalihan Cave, Panligawan Cave and Crystal Cave.

MABINAY SPRING AND HIGHLAND RESORT
Have both beautiful lake and swimming lagoon to cool off or swim a few rounds. Kayak for rent are also available at both places. Mabinay Spring also offers to walk high up in the tree-tops on a canopy walk, or cross the swimming lagoon via ZIP line.
